LEARNING THE WISDOM OF GOD

See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the Lord my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”

                                            - Deuteronomy 4: 5 - 6

I would like to define wisdom as the way God does His things. It is a characteristic that we all desire to possess, as it enables us to make good decisions and live a fulfilling life. But how do we obtain wisdom? The answer lies in studying God's ways, which are revealed in the Bible (the Word of God). As the Psalmist says,

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path

                                                      - Psalm 119:105.

The Bible is a rich source of wisdom that can help us navigate life's challenges. It teaches us how to live in a way that is pleasing to God and guides us towards a life of purpose and meaning. Proverbs 2:6-7 says,

For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity.

However, seeking after wisdom is not always easy because it is often criticized in this age. Some may view those who seek after wisdom as old-fashioned or out of touch with modern times. But as the Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 1:25,

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
God's wisdom is timeless and eternal, and it is something that we should all strive to attain. One of the most important ways to attain wisdom is to follow the example of Jesus Christ, who is the embodiment of God's wisdom. In Colossians 2:3, it says, "In whom [Christ] are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." By studying the life of Jesus Christ and following His example, we can learn how to live a life that is pleasing to God and walk in His wisdom.

In addition to studying the life of Jesus Christ, we should also dedicate time to studying God's Word. In Deuteronomy 4:6, it says,

Therefore be careful to observe them [God's commandments], for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes and say, 'Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

God's Word is full of wisdom that can guide us in our daily lives. It teaches us how to love one another, how to forgive, how to be patient, and how to be kind. It also teaches us how to make wise decisions and live a life that is pleasing to God. As it says in James 1:5, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

As we study God's Word and follow the example of Jesus Christ, we will begin to see the fruit of God's wisdom in our lives. We will experience success in our relationships, our careers, and our personal growth. We will also be a blessing to others and make a positive impact in the world. In Proverbs 3:13-14, it says, "Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold."
Finally, wisdom is the way God does things, and it is a characteristic that we all desire to possess. We can obtain wisdom by studying God's Word and trust the Holy Spirit to give us deeper insight into the truth in it beyond the letter. God's wisdom is timeless and eternal, and it can guide us in our daily lives. As we walk in His wisdom, we will experience success and make a positive impact.

Make the following confession:

I declare that I love the word of God and I walk consistently in His ways. The wisdom of God is working in me and by the Holy Spirit I have a life of enormous impact and great success in Jesus name
