A NEW AND BETTER SEASON IS HERE FOR YOU

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
                                                         - Psalms 30:5

You may be going through a storm in your life that offsets all our plans and makes you look like you are the dumbest in your circle of friends and relatives? You might have prayed for a sudden supernatural intervention which seems not to be coming so quickly and you are getting tired. The Lord is saying to you that the night will soon be over. It doesn't matter how much it desires to stay, it will soon run its course and a brighter day will emerge.

So is the storm in your life. It will soon run its course and a new season will come with its own calm atmosphere of peace that allows for restoration and enlargement. When the time comes, you will forget altogether the tears of the night before. Because you will come into the overwhelming joy of a new day that the Lord has made for you.

The Bible is filled with testimonies of people who weathered their storms in faith coming out of it victoriously with joy. The story of Hanna is one of such. Let's take a look at it.
Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her. This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the Lord, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat. Her husband Elkanah would say to her, “Hannah, why are you weeping? Why don’t you eat? Why are you downhearted? Don’t I mean more to you than ten sons?
                                                       -   1 Samuel 1:6 - 8

Hannah was one of two wives of Elkanah, but she was unable to have children, which was a source of great pain and shame for her in their society. Her husband's other wife, Peninnah, had children and made fun of Hannah for her barrenness, causing her great distress.
In verses 10 through 20, we see Hannah weeping and praying to God in the temple, pouring out her heart to Him and making a vow that if He would grant her a son, she would dedicate him to His service. God heard Hannah's prayer and granted her request. She gave birth to a son, Samuel, and when he was weaned, she fulfilled her vow and brought him to the temple to serve the Lord. Samuel would go on to become a great prophet of God. God used her pain to bring about the birth of a prophet who would play a critical role in Israelite history.

The story of Hannah is a message to us that every storm will eventually pass away, and a brighter day will come. Hannah's struggle with barrenness and Peninnah's taunts must have seemed like a never-ending storm in her life. But in God's timing, the storm passed, and Hannah's weeping turned to joy with the birth of Samuel.

Again the story reminds us that even in the darkest of nights, there is hope. We may weep for a while, but joy will come in the morning. It also reminds us that God's plans for our lives are often greater than we can imagine. In Hannah's case, God used her pain to bring about the birth of a prophet who would play a critical role in Israelite history.

Today, I pray that you receive the grace to hold on through your night until a new season comes for you in the morning. May your heart not faint in the day of adversity and may the Lord restore in many folds all that the night has taken away from you now in Jesus name. Amen.

In case this message is coming to you at a time that you feel like giving up on God because of a tough experience you are going through, i encourage you to make the following confession as you step out today:

I believe in the unconditional love of Jesus for me. I believe that all things are working for my good. I will not faint and I will not give until my change comes. Thank you Jesus for the grace and strength to keep holding unto your word.
