DO NOT ALLOW YOUR DIVINE INSTRUCTION TO EXPIRE

The people of Israel were very sad after Moses gave them the LORD's message. So they got up early the next morning and got ready to head toward the hill country of Canaan. They said, “We were wrong to complain about the LORD. Let's go into the land that he promised us.”

But Moses replied, “You're disobeying the LORD! Your plan won't work,  so don't even try it. The LORD refuses to help you, because you turned your backs on him. The Amalekites and the Canaanites are your enemies, and they will attack and defeat you.”

But the Israelites ignored Moses and marched toward the hill country, even though the sacred chest and Moses did not go with them. The Amalekites and the Canaanites came down from the hill country, defeated the Israelites, and chased them as far as the town of Hormah.

- Numbers 14: 39 - 45

On their way to Canaan, as they were about to enter the promised land the children of Israel refused to go and take the land as the Lord had instructed them to do. Their excuse was that the land was full of giants. Only Joshua and Caleb stood on God’s side and said they could go and take the land because God had said so.

But when they saw the consequences of their disobedience, and that God was not pleased with them, they decided to go and fight the war even though God had changed His mind and told them that the instruction had expired.

The story ended that they were defeated and many died because it was no longer an instruction from God.

One very important lesson to learn from the event recorded above is that divine Instructions do expire with God.

Whenever you hear God speak to you whether through a message being preached and as you study the Bible yourself, He expects you to demonstrate your confidence in His ability to keep His word.  This is done by quickly moving in faith to do what the word says.

That’s why the Bible says without faith, it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6), because faith doesn’t procrastinate on obedience. The God kind of faith is a “Now Faith”.  Faith takes the step the moment the word is released.

Doubt is the only reason why people don’t boldly ride on God’s word in obedience. Such people try to play their faith safe and make alternative provisions in the event that their faith fails.

You can't afford to be lackadaisical toward divine instructions and hope to have the result it promises at the end of the day.

If you wonder why you struggle to have faith, the Bible says faith comes by hearing the word of God. Just take sufficient time to either read or listen to God’s word on the matter you want to exercise faith on. The word of God has the power to persuade you to have faith if you will engulf yourself in it and shut out other noises of   voices that minister doubts to your heart.

You are a faith being because your creator who made you like Himself is a faith God too. You see, you were built to believe in the substance of things hoped for and in the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1). So, go start that business impressed upon your heart, get back to that school and follow up on that dream you have always believed is a vision from God. You can do it!

Say to yourself today:

I thank you Lord that I do not lack faith because I am persuaded by God’s word that nothing is impossible to me. My Spirit, Soul and Body responds in the affirmative to God’s word and my life is full of the pleasant results of faith in Jesus name.
